I know for these few days we were all very concerned over the 2 year-old girl's hit-and-run case in China.
I was horrified to know such a thing happened.
As I never dared to watch such videos, Siqi told me what happened in the video.
If you haven't watched it, or have no clue about the accident, you can search for it in Youtube.
A truck knock into her and instead of stopping to check on her, the driver drove off.
Running over her twice.
A van came along and run over her again, but I am not sure if this second driver know she was there.
Since the girl was already lying on the road.
11 passersby, no one bothered to save the little girl.
The passersby looked at the injured little girl and walked away.
Totally ignoring the fact that she is still alive and that she needs urgent medical attention.
Finally, a cleaning lady came and moved her to the side of the road.
I think at least the girl won't be run over by any other cars that come along.
The girl got to the hospital and slipped into coma.
She is just a 2 year-old girl.
Why is it that this has to happen on her?
How can the passersby just ignore the fact that it is a life at stack?
There are just so many questions in my head right now.
I've seen videos of them calling up the first driver.
I don't know to say he is dumb or that he is VERY arrogant.
He told the reporter that he will not turn himself in.
He already bought afternoon train ticket to leave for Xin Jiang province.
When the reporter ask if he was running away, escaping..
He answered, "YES."
Who says such things?
I cannot understand what is going through his mind when he said all those.
Is he trying to divert the police's attention?
Or is he dumb enough to tell the reporter where he was running to?
I don't know, it's up to you guys to think about.
I have heard so many things about this accident.
However, I don't know how reliable the sources are, so also up to you guys to determine for yourselves.
1. The first driver said that he knocked into the girl and he saw that there was no one around, so he quickly drove off.
He claims that the girl did not watch where she was going, and that he was on the phone so he did not see her.
2. The first driver said he rather the little girl died than she survived with such serious injuries.
I was talking to my BF about it.
We were saying maybe he wanted her to have less sufferings.
But what he said was that if she survived he would have to pay a lot for medical bills. If she died, he would only have to pay $4000 for compensation.
3. Netizens are saying that the cleaning lady who saved the girl, did it for money's sake.
Is there still justice in the world?
She saved the girl and people are saying that what she did was wrong?
So all those who ignored and left a girl to die are people that did the right thing?
4. When interviewed, most of the passersby said that because it was so grotesque and bloody so they didn't dare to help.
So it is okay to lose a little girl like that?
Won't you be haunted by your conscious?
5. A Singaporean author said that Singaporeans will probably do the same thing.
Why would he think that?
I've heard cases of brave souls whom helped catch robbers, killers, etc in Singapore.
6. I've seen HK news said that the girl had passed away. But also heard that they are doinf surgery on her to see if they can save her, or to confirm if she was brain dead.
I don't know which is true, which to believe, I shall wait for tomorrow's paper.
I don't know if it is naive to think this way.
I really do think there is good in everyone, every single person.
Such things are really non-existence in my mind.
But whenever I see such cases, child or animal abuse, I cannot understand WHY.
What is the purpose?
What will be the consequences?
It is so disappointing and heartbreaking to know of such actions.
My deepest sympathy to Wang Yue and her family.
With Love,
